Position Overview & Specifications

LOGISTICS MANAGER

Destiny Foods is one of the UK premier supplier of frozen luxury desserts. As part of La Compagnie

Des Dessert group we supply quality desserts to some of the biggest names in the UK hospitality sector.

We are seeking an experienced hands-on Logistics Manager to help
the business reach our ambitious but realistic growth plans.
The main purpose of this role is to manage direct receiving, warehousing, dispatch and transport

operations. You will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide variety of products.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all Logistics

processes are running smoothly and promptly.

Job Purpose:

To optimise the smooth running of the Transport and Warehouse departments, through effective planning and utilisation of resources, training and people management to meet and exceed the

Logistics department objectives, ensuring that the company standards and procedures are

met at all times.

Responsibilities:

· Strategically manage Warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision.

· Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations.

· Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements.

· Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.

· Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.

· Manage route planning software including planning daily delivery routes.

· Driver pre-brief and de-brief.

· Troubleshooting critical transport related issues as they arise in a live environment.

· Manage vehicle maintenance schedule and liaise with our service providers as and when (breakdown,repair,service etc).

· Plan delivery vehicles /drivers and resolve any issues.

· Liaise with sales and customer service department to resolve all queries.

· Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results.

· Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees

· Produce reports and statistics regularly.

· Receive feedback and monitor the quality of our service providers.

Requirements:

· Proven work experience as a Logistics manager.

· Previous experience of in a D1 for D2 dispatch and transport environment.

· Expertise in Warehouse management procedures and best practices.

· Expertise in Transport management procedures and best practices.

· Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.

· Strong knowledge of warehousing and transport Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

· Hands on experience with warehouse and transport management software and databases.

· Experience of delivery route planning system and electronic POD software.

· Leadership skills and ability manage staff.

· Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Strong understanding of customer service.

· Ability to multi-task and be a strong decision maker.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
