Job Description

What they're looking for...

We're looking for a hands-on Full-stack Developer with the technical skills and aptitude to build a technology platform from scratch to help businesses make better decisions. You'll have utilised various data sources in previous roles including open/public data, web analytics data, traffic data, APIs and web scraping. You will have also worked on data visualisation.

You will get to...

  • Collaborate with the team to design and develop new features for our platform.
  • Maintain and optimise our current codebase.
  • Write reusable and efficient code.
  • Test and debug code, and participate in code reviews.
  • Manage AWS instances and services.
  • Set up and maintain Docker containers and CI/CD pipeline.

Ideal Profile

Must have...

  • Prior experience in building and maintaining web applications and platforms
  • Experience with Python and/or Django for backend
  • Experience with React and/or JavaScript for frontend
  • Good knowledge of AWS services like EC2 instances, Lambda, SES, Caching Servers, and PostgresSQL databases.
  • Solid experience with Git and GitHub.
  • Solid understanding of best practices such as CI/CD, TDD etc
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Good to have...

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.
  • Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with security principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Chart.js and D3.js.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining ETL processes.
  • Utilised a variety of data sources in previous roles including familiarity with REST APIs
