BRIEF OVERVIEW

A position as an Team Leader, Ocean Import Gateway has arisen at DSV Air & Sea, Purfleet.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The role of Team Leader, Ocean Import Gateway is to fully meet branch expectations for safe and efficient transport of their products from various worldwide destinations into the UK in accordance with company policy and procedures as well as statutory requirements.

Take direct ownership of branch relationships and ensure all business is implemented successfully and communication to the client is of the highest level.

Delivering an excellent standard of customer service is extremely important to this role.


KEY REQUIRMENTS


  • Use of Company In-House systems to complete Import documentation and operational processes.
  • Organise operational workflow to meet customer timeframes.
  • Communicate effectively with the branches to obtain relevant information and ensure their needs are met.
  • Ensure legislative compliance in all areas.
  • Manage escalations from internal and external partners
  • Develop and support direct reports
  • Liaise with Origin offices for assistance on load planning for Groupage Lanes
  • Support along with Product team to ensure follow nominated co-loader and strengthen own LCL Groupage
  • Complete all administration functions in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Leading the department in a proactive and professional direction
  • Costing responsibility
  • Day to day problem solving

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES


  • Good communication skills
  • Ideally strong LCL knowledge skills
  • Good organization skills and effective time management
  • Maintain a positive mind-set whilst working under pressure, re-prioritising workload where necessary
  • Commercial Awareness
  • Attention to detail
  • IT Literate in Microsoft Office
  • Problem solving
  • Applicant would ideally have 2-3 years recent relevant industry experience with previous involvement in Worldwide ocean freight imports
