Brief job description:

Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for an IT Technician Apprentice with SecurIT123 ltd, an IT security and support company based in West Yorkshire.

Job Description:

You will be working as part of a small IT support team. You will be trained and tasked with first line IT support duties. This includes taking calls and dealing with customer IT problems. This will cover common items such as office 365, Telephones, network queries and general IT support. It is expected that with time, you will progress and start designing and installing new systems.

There will be some limited admin work such as filling out job tickets, timesheets etc.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Taking and making telephone calls.
  • Dealing with Office 365 Queries.
  • Dealing with Telephony queries.
  • Dealing with general IT support queries (PC’s and Macs).
  • Dealing with basic broadband, Wi-Fi, and network queries.
  • Preparing hardware to be delivered to customers.
  • Refurbishing computers and network hardware.
  • There will also be opportunities to work at customer sites.
  • Admin: Ticketing.
  • Admin: Timesheets.
  • General admin.

Qualifications:

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language, Science and Maths)

Skills Required:

  • Aptitude for technology.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work under their own steam and manage their own task list.
  • Good telephone manner.
  • Good written communication skills.

Future prospects:

The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance. Ideally, the candidate will learn well and progress past end-user first line support to more complex and rewarding work.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment, and monitoring of infrastructure components.
  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.
  • Maintain regulatory, legal, and professional standards.
  • Support the information systems needs for your business.
