A day in the life of a Driver Controller

The day starts bright and early, at around 7.45am to ensure the branch is ready for the start of the trading at 8am. Leading the Driving Team from the front the DC will lead and co-ordinate the team to ensure all service level agreements are achieved throughout the day.

A DC will ensure that all deliveries are dispatched in a timely and efficient manner in order to achieve all Service Level Agreements. They are responsible for running a tight ship and supporting the Operations Manager to ensure all stock is picked accurately before it leaves the building handled in a way as to minimise the risk of damage during delivery. It is all hands-on deck to ensure the customers’ expectations are met. The customer is king, and time is money!

Driver Controller – what we expect:

• A proven track record of working within a supervisory position.

• Experience of leading and motivating a team.

• Attention to detail with the ability to respond to any request within the specified time.

• Target driven individual with a strong work ethic

• High levels of focus, energy and drive

• Experience of Fleet Management

• Ability to thrive in a high pressure and fast-paced environment

• Great communicator

• Computer literate

• Average of 44 hours per week Monday to Friday from 8am - 6pm and alternate Saturdays from 8am - 4pm
