Cake Decorator / Baker

Fitzbillies is a 100 year old artisan bakery in central Cambridge. We make a huge range of baked goods: the Chelsea buns we’re most famous for; sourdough and yeasted breads, viennoisserie, celebration cakes, brownies and macarons. These are sold through our own shop and cafés, our wholesale business supplying local farm shops, restaurants and Cambridge colleges, and online. Our business has grown hugely over the past 10 years as we’ve combined the best of Fitzbillies traditions with modern artisan baking. We’re equally popular with our very discerning local customers and with visitors to Cambridge.

This role is for a cake decorator / baker to join the team at our bakery unit on Clifton Road, Cambridge. We are looking for someone with experience in decorating semi-naked and butter cream cakes. Cake decorating experience necessary . The role involves decorating semi-naked cakes and cupcakes for our shop and decorating celebration cakes. There is also the opportunity to get involved in other aspects of baking and to learn macaron making.

40-45 hours a week or 24-27 hours a week.

5 days out of 7, or 3 days out of 7, including some weekend work

£11.25-£11.75 per hour, depending on experience

Start times vary between 7am and 10am.
