We are looking to appoint a School Chef who is passionate about high quality standards and customer satisfaction. As School Chef you will ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of food within the school and be an inspiring Chef who can develop the food service and the team. The key responsibilities for the role are ordering food, monitoring and managing supplies within a budget, supervising the work of catering staff and also be responsible for the book work for the school. The successful candidate would have good cooking techniques and have knowledge of food hygiene and be highly organised and calm under pressure. You would be joining an exceptional and supportive team of professionals, who are relentless in our pursuit of excellence and our mission to make every day count for the children. We are looking for someone who:

Your core duties will be:

  • Provision of any catering required by the school, within the normal day to day life of the school
  • General supervision of the kitchen, including hygiene, training staff and all day to day operations
  • Responsible for the preparation & cooking of the meal, with assistance from kitchen staff
  • Supervision & delegation of work to all kitchen staff
  • All administrative work including menu planning, food ordering, stock control, staff record sheets, monitoring food budgets, requisitioning of equipment and reporting repairs to premises
