Head of Operations

FM Conway is currently recruiting for a professional and motivated Head of Operations to join our fast-growing Aggregates and Asphalt Division based from our Head Office in Sevenoaks.

The Head of Operations Role

• Embedding and driving forward improved safety measures on all our sites whilst controlling operational costs within the Aggregates and Asphalt division in line with the company plans and budgets

• Managing the operational team, fostering positive morale and promoting exceptional performance and delivery

• Developing and managing the divisional operational action and business plans

• Identifying and leading programs and projects to ensure continuous operational improvement

• Promoting and ensuring a safe working environment for all, ensuring all Health and Safety plans, method statements and risk assessments are undertaken, reviewed and documented

• Evaluating performance against targets and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement

• Ensuring quality performance is achieved through commercial liaison and business feedback

• Analysing the operational workforce to provide for succession planning, and to support this process by ensuring the continuous development of skills and other training

• Maintaining business continuity and emergency response capabilities within the division and respond to the emergency situations when required to do so

• Identifying, mitigating and managing business risks

Our Ideal Head of Operations

We are looking for a Head of Operations who has experience of working in the aggregates and asphalt industry. You will have demonstrable operational knowledge and experience of multi-site management. Ideally you will have a relevant degree level qualification. Travel to our asphalt plants will be required, therefore it’s important that the successful individual has a flexible approach and a full UK driving license.
