Position Overview & Specifications

Focus are committed to a sustainable future for the Built Environment. We provide a single point of service for our clients, delivering excellence in economic development, construction, and sustainability.

We employ a talented workforce of 60 people across our offices in Nottingham, London, Leicester, and Newark and Focus will be a Net Zero Carbon consultancy in operation by 2026.

Our core services comprise:

CREATE Funding, Business Planning, Economic Development, Research and Evaluation

DELIVER Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying

ASSESS Sustainability & Environment, Building Physics, Carbon, Compliance, Planning Support and Performance Testing

With a long track record in delivery of Sustainability and Compliance services the Focus ASSESS team continues to grow. We are looking to recruit a Sustainabilityprofessional to join our established ASSESS team supporting project work in the disciplines of Sustainability and Environment, and Carbon. We invite applications at both a Graduate level and from more experienced practitioners in the field; the main responsibilities are set out below.

Responsibilities

· Primarily, Environmental Assessment Methods services (BREEAM, DREAM, HQM, Fitwel etc)

· Life Cycle Assessments - whole life carbon and embodied carbon

· Supporting Energy and sustainability strategy services

· Net Zero Carbon pathway advice

· Corporate GHG emissions reduction advice (GHG Protocol, PAS 2060 etc.)

· Circular Economy Assessments

· Environmental Product Declarations

· Carbon offsetting advice services

· Low and Zero Carbon specification advice

Your attributes/skills

· You will have a degree or similar advanced qualification related to the built environment and/or sustainability.

· A grasp of BREEAM assessments, their purpose and the process involved is welcome, but full training is provided

· The role is technical so requires high attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

· A proven ability to communicate complex and technical information succinctly and effectively in writing required

· You will be a member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IEMA, CIWEM, RICS, CIOB etc.) or be looking to gain membership in the future

· A keen interest in keeping up to date with the latest news and developments in our fast-evolving sector.

· You will understand the importance of customer service and be capable of delivering this to a high level through excellent verbal communication skills.

· Familiarity with Environmental Assessment Methods (EAM) like DREAM and Fitwel would be welcome.

· Work experience within the field of sustainability would be advantage.

· Full, clean driving license preferred.
