A fantastic opportunity for someone wishing to start or further a career in the law. We are a fast growing, well respected firm of solicitors with offices in Swindon and Witney. We are looking for a trainee paralegal, to be based in Witney. The role will involve a range of administrative, legal and IT duties and there will be opportunities to train and develop beyond the role for the right candidate.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Reception duties: answering the phone, managing emails, making appointments and taking payments.
- Greeting clients into the office.
- General office management including post and ordering stationary.
- Support and assistance to departmental fee earners including attending meetings and taking notes.
- Assisting with casework.
- Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases.
- Dealing with correspondence.
- Maintaining accurate time costing procedures.
- Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly.
- Ensuring compliance with file management.
- Filing and general admin including photocopying and printing documents for meetings.
- Typing letters – legal and non-legal.
Skills and Qualities required:
- Minimum 5 GCSEs, Grade A to C including Maths and English or equivalent. A levels or equivalent. (Degree preferable)
- Able to use Microsoft Office
- Some office experience is essential, strong IT skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Teamwork.
- Good timekeeping, well presented and professional.
- Able to use own initiative and multi task with a flexible approach to working – will assist in different areas when required.
- Good organisational skills.

Salary: £20,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
