Transport Planner

We are looking for a driven, organised individual to join our Transport Planning Team working at Gist’s Head Office in Chineham, Basingstoke.

As a Transport Planner you will be responsible for planning product from Gist depots to well known retailers across the UK.

It’s an exciting time to join, too. Having recently been acquired by Marks & Spencer, Gist is set to benefit from improvements to its supply chain efficiency, with network investment and a new journey to success taking shape

Salary: £26,500 - £33,000 per annum depending on experience
Hours: 42 hour week, 12 hour shifts
Working pattern: 4 on 4 off pattern
Location: Basingstoke, RG24 8UB

As a Transport Planner at Gist

You will plan product from food manufacturers to regional distribution centres, minimising the amount of routes and exceeding key performance indicator targets.

You will review depot and customer plans to highlight potential cost saving iniatives.You will also review and plan the replenishment of delivery equipment back from regional distribution centres to suppliers depending on supplier requirements.

You will also react to live customer issues, communicating professionally over email and phone.

You will be involved also in various adhoc projects.

About You

• You will have experience in a planning/scheduling position
• You will ideally have experience in the transport industry
• You will ideally have experience with Paragon (planning software)
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Ability to thrive under pressure
• Competent in MS Excel
