Salary: £35.500 per annum

About the Job: We are seeking an Assistant Health and Safety Manager to join the team, based in our Barnsley factory, and covering our three factory locations (Barnsley, Peterborough, Cumbernauld).
- Provide H&S advice to managers and employees, as well as completing risk assessments and ongoing audits/inspections.
- This role requires strong knowledge of H&S law, communication, and IT skills.
- The requirement and the ability to fit into our work culture and to work with individuals at all levels.
- You will be developed and trained to understand the product and environment, but you need to be confident in your own abilities.
- You will be comfortable working as part of a team and yet be able to function independently, managing your own time and working to deadlines.
The role reports into the Health and Safety Manager and is suited to someone ambitious wanting to develop their skills and knowledge about the industry.
Shifts:
The shifts available are as follows:
Monday – Friday 40 hours (Flexible hours) with a willingness to work across days, afternoons, and nights.
The Candidate:
- It is essential that you have your NEBOSH General Certificate(s)
- It would be ideal if you are a graduate member of IOSH (Tech IOSH) or working towards this status.
- Due to travelling, it is essential you have a full, valid driving licence. (Do not apply if you do not possess a full driving licence)
- Will be flexible with occasional overnight stays when visiting sites.
- Must be hands-on type of worker.
- You may be a Health and Safety Advisor looking for your next step in your career.
- Will ideally have experience in our industry, but not essential.
- A training qualification or experience in FLT, Crane etc training is advantageous.
