Position Overview & Specifications

Woodlands & Countryside Manager - North Somerset

Salary - up to £35k per annum

Glendale holds a number of contracts in the North Somerset area and now seek a suitably qualified and experienced Manager to oversee contracts delivering grounds maintenance and Countryside Management services.

The Opportunity

This is an outstanding career opportunity with a market leader to deliver a strategically important range of work and activities from shrub and tree planting, fencing, scrub control, herbicide application, grass cutting, habitat management, woodland work, and ongoing contracts for a variety of clients.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of managing grounds maintenance, countryside management and project teams and be able to drive productivity whilst ensuring the workforce provides a quality service. You should have a strategic outlook to enable continuous improvement and identify efficiencies along the way.

This is a hands-on role involving monitoring the progress of teams on-site and taking quick and effective action to maintain both high productivity and client satisfaction. You will have full responsibility for the Contract accounts and production of weekly and monthly reports.

The Person

Candidates should be well organised, and have skills and experience in people and contract management, with a passion for conservation, countryside & the natural environment. Above all they need to possess excellent leadership ability, enthusiasm, excellent people management and communication skills. A horticultural qualification and a good understanding of IT and field management systems would be preferred.

You should have a strategic outlook to meet short, medium and long-term objectives and champion continuous improvement and community involvement.
