Gough and Kelly, an NSI Gold company, is a premier provider of security products and services and has served the north of England for over three decades.
We now have an excellent opportunity for a professional and motivated Security Officer to join the team, to provide security services to a site based in York City Centre.
The position:
- Permanent
- 4 on, 4 off, night shift pattern: 19:00 to 07:00 hours (12-hour shifts)
- Immediate start available, subject to vetting and passing safeguarding checks
- A valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence is essential

Main responsibilities:
- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
- Conducts locks and unlocks
- Obtains help by sounding alarms
- Prevents any losses and damage by reporting irregularities
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
- Liaises with the in-house team
- Light facilities management duties
Required skills and attributes:
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence
- 1 years’ experience in a similar role (preferable)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with the general public and engage/advise when necessary
- Ability to deal with uncertainty
- Strong surveillance skills
- Professionalism
- A full, clean, UK driving licence (preferred but not essential) and own transportation to site
