These growth plans include implementing a real time end-to-end Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform, a multi-million-pound investment, and part of our long-term digital transformation initiative. Focused on advancing our technology and integrating web-based navigation, this EHR will allow HCA UK clinicians and colleagues to enhance patient safety, quality and care and to maintain our outstanding ratings and continue to be a global market leader in complex care. Therefore, we are investing in a new workforce to lead this change, and we are actively recruiting now for a 2023 start, focused on change management, transforming work practices, and project delivery of goals and objectives.

In summary

The Customer Education and Training Lead is a key role in the Transformation & Engagement workstream within the HCA UK division wide EHR programme that will introduce new ways of working for clinicians and colleagues. The role will work with key business subject matter experts and project team members to lead the delivery of training to meet the business needs for the build and launch of the programme. The role is responsible for organising the delivery of system demos to the right stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the programme, as well as managing the floor walkers and trainers, ensuring the right, fully trained, resources are in place to support the delivery plans. Effective training for the wider business and colleagues is critical in the successful implementation of the EHR and the adoption of new business processes to enable the realisation of the programme benefits.

Specific deliverables and top priorities for this role are:

  • Lead the Customer Education and Training team within the Transformation and Engagement workstream.

  • Facilitate the running of demonstrations to increase awareness of the EHR capabilities, supporting the discovery, design and build of the EHR solution and the new business processes.

  • Develop a training plan to meet the needs of the EHR workstreams for implementation.

  • Manage a team of floor walkers up to and beyond go-live of the technical solution and new business processes, to facilitate a smooth transition to BAU.

  • Responsible for the on-boarding and performance management of the additional temporary resource.

  • Review effectiveness of the education/training.

Successful candidates will need:

  • Delivery of training within a change programme.

  • Co-ordination of a team of trainers / floor walkers.

  • Training approaches and methods of delivery.

  • Excellent organisational and people management skills.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Learning and Development qualifications.
