There are five Senior Project Manager G7 posts currently available. You will support the workstream leads to bring together enabling programmes and interested stakeholders to deliver on the following Digitise and Enable.

FBIS-Digitise

  • Border Vision Senior Project Manager

The Border Vision workstream’s function will transform the UK border, embracing innovation, simplifying processes for trade and passengers while improving the security and biosecurity of the UK. The workstream brings together enabling programmes and interested stakeholders to agree an approach for innovation at the border for a global United Kingdom.

  • Universal Permissions to Travel: Senior Project Manager

As part of the of the wider 2025 vision for the border the Government intends to introduce a Universal Permission to Travel (UPT) for all cohorts including British Citizens, Irish Nationals and those with Indefinite Leave to Remain. The Universal Permission to Travel workstream includes delivery of Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) and Future Biometrics.

  • Future Casework: Senior Project Manager

This is an exciting time to be part of and lead the ambitious projects within Future casework. The projects aim to, future-proof our case working capabilities and improve efficiency and effectiveness. This includes enhancing the use of workflow and automation, optimising operational processes and procedures, better understanding and developing case working skills across Migration & Borders directorate.

The projects within Customer and Channel are progressive in delivering the strategic vision to become world class in customer services, by simplifying our products and services to meet the needs of our customers, automating and digitising our systems to allow greater flexibility for our customers.

  • e-Visa: Senior Project Manager

The Enable vision is to move to a digital, end to end immigration system. We will achieve this by providing all new customers with a digital product (e-Visa) who are applying to come to or stay in the UK. This is an exciting and high-profile project.

Essential criteria

  • Proven track record of successful project delivery, including practical experience in actively managing project risks, able to make decisions, engage in dialogue on risk management strategy, and demonstrate a level of skill beyond simply ‘managing a process’. You will be able to apply your skills to a range of risks, with a sound understanding of how they relate to wider strategy.
  • Define and develop initial delivery designs and running costs, maintain project plans, identifying and recommending appropriate project controls, providing key reports, updating and raising risks, issues and progress to your workstream lead.
  • Lead regular discussions, workshops and chair meetings, driving forward the work of the team, articulate proposals in a clear, informative and influential manner, encouraging two-way engagement at all levels and developing and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Advocate the use of research and analysis to ensure that decision making outcomes are supported by qualitative and quantitative data. Use knowledge and information management tools, aligning these with other workstream’s and programme’s setup.

Salary: £54,000.00-£64,900.00 per year
