Being a Lifeguard is an essential part of the operation of the Swimming pool and Centre. This is a responsible role which is key to the safety and well-being of our customers; it requires excellent attention to detail, good people skills and a current NPLQ qualification. As a Lifeguard, your responsibilities will be:
To supervise the Swimming Pool and associated facilities in accordance with the written procedures.- To supervise the use of the facility by customers, in accordance with procedures.
- To assist swimmers in difficulty, applying first aid and artificial respiration where necessary.
- To carry out cleaning duties as directed.
- To assist with water testing and the maintenance of these records.
- To assist with the general maintenance of the facility including filtration, disinfection, mechanical and electrical plant, as directed by a senior team member
- To assist duty staffing with achieving high levels of service, including dealing with general enquiries and customer needs.
- Undertake any other comparable cleaning, labouring, security and coaching duties as required by the leisure manager, and to act in a similar capacity at other facilities, also as required.
As a Lifeguard, you will need to have:
R.L.S.S. National Pool Lifeguard Qualification- Evidence of practical experience in the responsibilities above.
- The willingness to work non-standard hours on occasions – this includes weekends and bank holidays
- The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
