Position Overview & Specifications
An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Technician within the Alloy Plant, at our Exeter site.
The purpose of this role is to support Managers/Supervisors in daily production tasks, working with supervision to improve production processes and supporting office staff in other allocated duties outside of the manufacturing process.
Main responsibilities:
- Monitor the production process as instructed ensuring SOP’s are followed and up to date
- Ensure that a suitable number of stores consumable items are always available to allow the flow of continuous production
- Carry out quality control throughout the production cycle for all consumable items and final products as instructed plus engagement in suppliers’ trials.
- Work with Supervision to improve a sustainable production process where possible
- Complete training of all basic manufacturing processes as instructed in all areas as requested.
- To consistently establish and maintain priorities to complete tasks and projects within timelines
- Troubleshoot and find ways to improve the performance of equipment
- Accurate record keeping and good housekeeping
- Report any errors or issues to Quality and manufacturing leadership team
- Ensuring the management team and appropriate team members are aware of issue or potential issues in a timely manner
- Working cohesively with other team members to achieve the target outputs
- Co-operating within manufacturing and other departments to resolve issues
- Participates in quality improvement and process waste elimination efforts by supporting continuous improvement idea
- EHS initiatives
- To understand and work in accordance with the company’s risk and COSHH assessments for assigned activities
- Carry out other duties as allocated outside of the manufacturing process and use own initiative to find / complete other work
- Train as relief for stores related matters
