The successful candidate will be a focused individual with a strong desire to work in a clinical research setting and have prior experience of working alongside patients, clinicians and research staff.
The post holder will primarily be responsible for the delivery of an NIHR HTA funded research project for patients within the Academic Vascular Surgical Unit. Alongside this role, the post holder will be required to deliver supervised exercise programmes for research and NHS purposes.

The post holder will will be required to assist the lead physiologist in the delivery of an NHS cardiopulmonary exercise testing clinic for research and NHS purposes, assessing suitability for each patient by considering co-morbidities, contraindications and providing analysis and interpretation of exercise test data. This also requires requesting further specialist management if required.
The exercise programmes will be delivered using a variety of methods. These methods include a traditional, group-based, guideline-led NHS supervised exercise programme with appropriate individualisation when required to maximise patient engagement and motivation and a more novel, research-based high-intensity interval training programme prescribed on the basis of a cardiopulmonary exercise test.
