Blood Sciences Support Worker

This is a Fixed Term / Secondment until 05/04/2024. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to fill a part-time fixed term (for 10 months) Support Worker post in the Blood Sciences Department at Withybush General Hospital.

The post may require participation in the provision of the 7 day service to include Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday hours with appropriate pay enhancements.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a wide range of duties appropriate to the job role but will mainly be involved with the collection of blood samples by venepuncture for analysis from the wards. There may also be a requirement to support specimen reception duties involving receipt, preparation, processing, storage and disposal of clinical laboratory specimens and samples.

Full training will be provided upon commencement.

Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
