Young adult looking for sporty & music loving PA in S2, £12ph (IBK026)

Ibk is a community based, not-for-profit social enterprise with over 20 years’ experience of providing Direct Payment Support to families, children and adults of all ages with a range of needs. We provide a bespoke matching service, finding the right PA for the right person!

IBK are helping a family to look for a number of PA's to support their 22 year old son who has Cerebral Palsy and is a wheelchair user.

This independent and honest young man is an confident young gentleman, who wants to be, in his own words 'treated with respect, the same as anyone his own age'

His hobbies include basketball and going to the gym, watching movies and combat sports, as well as reading a marvel/DC comic. Additionally, he is most passionate about producing his own music on his laptop using specific software!

The main aim of the support is to provide social and practical support when needed to enable the gentleman to live a more independent life as he chooses.

The role includes personal care along with manual handling and assisted moving and handling. He also needs support with daily stretches and putting on his splints (training will be provided).

Another key responsibility will be to prepare light meals and drinks and to keep his room clean and tidy

More importantly, the role involves supporting him in the community to access social activities, pursue his hobbies and interests and promote his independence in his day to day life.

Essential Criteria:

- Have a genuine desire to enhance the life of this young adult and help him to explore new opportunities

- Provide personal care in a manner that maintains this gents privacy and dignity

- Ability to learn from the family and existing P.A's

- Be respectful in the family home

- Be creative, with a fun and honest approach

- Willing to invest in getting to know this young person well and commit to providing the best support

- A good sense of humour

Hours Available:

Wednesday - daytime 9 hour shift (either 9am-6pm or 10am-7pm)

Thursday - daytime 9 hour shift (either 9am-6pm or 10am-7pm)

All hours are negotiable for the right person
