Position Overview & Specifications
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as a key internal point-of-contact and subject matter expert on all matters relating to privacy law, including providing practical, timely, strategic, and high-quality support on data privacy and security matters.
- Provide support for the strategic reviewing, drafting, and negotiating of privacy and data security terms in contracts with business partners and vendors, including data processing agreements and data protection terms in clinical research agreements.
- Provide advice, education, training, tools, and direction to legal, compliance, and business stakeholders on data protection laws impacting business operations and contractual relationships.
- Provide support on investigations involving reports of inappropriate or unauthorized access, loss or disclosure of personal data, including advising on potential liability, identifying legal obligations, and supporting incident response efforts.
- Developing and implementing HIPAA policies and procedures
- Conducting risk assessments and audits to identify potential privacy and security risks
- Providing HIPAA training to staff members
- Investigating and responding to HIPAA violations and breaches

Qualification and Skills:
- Minimum three years of recent experience in privacy function for a large matrixed organization related to application/systems audit, regulatory and risk reviews, or related experience
- Attention to detail is a must-have. HIPAA Senior Associate must pay close attention to the fine print when dealing with patient privacy and legal compliance issues.
- Strong understanding of US and International Privacy Regulations
- Demonstrated independent judgment with excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate to advance level aptitude in MS productivity tools – Excel, Access,
PowerPoint
- Fluent English ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bilingual in Mandarin and Cantonese is a plus

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
