Position Overview & Specifications

As a Finance Director, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial operations and strategy of an organization. Your responsibilities will include financial planning, analysis, reporting, and decision-making to support the achievement of the company’s financial goals. You will collaborate with various departments and senior executives, providing financial insights and guidance to drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Planning:Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy aligned with the overall business objectives.
Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to ensure effective resource allocation.
Identify and evaluate financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for improvement.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
Monitor financial performance and key metrics, identifying trends, and presenting findings to senior management.
Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profitability improvement.

Financial Operations Management:Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, billing, and payroll.
Establish and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other external stakeholders.

Financial Decision Support:Collaborate with department heads and senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Conduct financial modelling, scenario analysis, and investment appraisals for new initiatives or projects.
Assess the financial impact of business decisions and provide recommendations for optimizing profitability and return on investment.

Team Leadership and Development:Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and collaboration.
Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to team members, supporting their professional growth and development.
Foster effective cross-functional relationships and collaboration with other departments to ensure financial objectives are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) is advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a similar financial leadership role.
  • Strong financial acumen and deep understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic financial insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of financial software and systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align financial goals with overall business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £63,014.68-£133,014.19 per year
