Position Overview & Specifications

The postholder will be responsible for providing overal project management of all simulation and clinical skills and education initiatives. They will assist with the strategic planning of the similation and clinical skills facilities and promote their role throughout the Trust liaising with those who manage existing facilities.

The postholder is expected to analyse current resources for simulation and clinical skill across all professional groups across the Trust and is expected to liaise with professional leads to be abreast of other relevant initiatives. The postholder requires a high level of responsibility and must be able to work unsupervised and use their own initiative to fulfil the requirements of the role.

The successful candidate will have a background in simulation and the use of simulation technology. They will be responsible for keeping abreast of developments in the technologies, particularly in higher education, in order to improve and enhance our facilities. They will be expected to review the facilities and opportunities offered by neighbouring Trusts and leverage opportunities for joint working. This includes identifying good practice or supporting the development of simulation and clinical skills training within new systems of healthcare.

The postholder will represent Medical Education at relevant internal and external meetings. They will develop business cases when required with option appraisal and review of the financial implications for all the SCs/Education investments with the Head of Medical Education. These will need to be presented to the Medical Education Committee.

The postholder will have line management responsibility for the Simulation Administrator.
