Position Overview & Specifications
The Dyson School of Design Engineering is the 10th and newest engineering department at Imperial College London. The School brings together traditional engineering disciplines with areas such as behavioural science, design thinking, ethics, and business model innovation, to foster creativity and rigour in a single engineering discipline. The School is unique in its delivery of joint degrees with the Royal College of Art.
Within the School, the Audio Experience Design team (www.axdesign.co.uk) is currently recruiting an Audio Technician, whose role will be to manage the Turret Lab and other relevant facilities and equipment, as well as supporting research staff in their work.
Duties and responsibilities
Specific Key Responsibilities
- Managing the equipment within the Audio Experience Design team:
- Ensure it’s kept in an organised manner
- Ensure it’s functional (and facilitate repairs when it’s not)
- Support purchase and setup of new equipment
- Support the research staff within the Audio Experience Design team:
- Support the creation of new experiments and the data collection
- If applicable, get involved in specific research projects
Key Areas of Responsibilities

- Continuous Improvement
Essential requirements
- Previous experience in the audio engineering domain
- At least two A-Levels in scientific subjects
- UG degree in scientific subject (or equivalent experience)

This is a part-time job at 0.2FTE, 7 hours per week.
