Purpose of role

To carry out the tasks involved in maturing and processing spirit. To safely achieve the daily work schedule in order to meet production plans and customer service objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

• To stow and de-stow casks safely and efficiently
• To select and move casks
• To dump and fill casks with spirit
• To operate manual handling equipment for handling casks
• To operate semi-automated cask handling systems/equipment
• To ensure safe handling of containers of flammable liquid in order to comply with company policy and COMAH/DSEAR commitments.

Working Conditions

• The working hours will be 37hrs, varied between 7am and 7pm Monday – Thursday
• Required to work additional hours as necessitated by the needs of the business.
• Involves working in external conditions with exposure to extremes of weather

Personal Profile

• Experience in a warehouse environment would be ideal, however not essential as training will be provided.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team.

Preferred Qualifications & Practical Training

• Counterbalance forklift truck licence preferred however not essential as training will be provided
• Manual handling of casks
• Inspection of casks
• Operation of Cask Filling/Dumping Equipment
• Safe Pallet Stowing
• Warehouse Evacuation
• Basic IT
• H&S – Manual handling
• Team working

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
