LOCATION: Redhill / Cardiff UK [we are only accepting UK based applicants for this role]
Reporting into the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of management reports for senior management to aid decision-making within the UK business.
Job Description
Management Accounts
Working alongside the Head of Finance and Financial Accountant to prepare the monthly management accounts. The Management accountant would oversee or assist with:
- Preparing and reconciling bank statements against the nominal ledger, investigating and resolving differences.
- Prepayments and Accruals.
- Management account review and commentary (Income Statement / Balance Sheet).
- Other finance related tasks such as Sales ledger, purchase ledger and expenses.
Audit, Tax and Financial Compliance
- Assist with external audit process and complete all relevant audit samples.
- Collate information required for external tax team.
- Prepare calculations for notes to financial statements (Group and Company) ensuring compliance with FRS102.
- Support the preparation of VAT returns and ensure any differences are reconciled.
- Ensure sound internal controls and checks.
Invoicing & Reporting
- Prepare / review Premium and claims reports sent to underwriters/clients.
- Oversee the Fee and Reimbursement invoicing function.
- Oversee claims bank account reconciliations.
- Oversee monthly and weekly MI/KPI reports as required and support management team with additional analysis.
Requirements
- Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA).
- A minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience of Workday finance system would be beneficial.
- Highly Competent user of Excel.
- Proactive and hands on.
- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels.
