Interplex in Arbroath, Scotland is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our winning team. Interplex Industries (a Blackstone Company) is a global supplier of custom interconnect and electronic packaging solutions. Our diverse customer base includes automotive, telecom, industrial, Medical Life Science and consumer electronics suppliers worldwide.
About the Role:
Reporting directly into the Automation Team Leader, Automation Technicians will play a key role in setting and operating automation cells within the Moulding department to produce high quality parts for customers.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up stamping tools in different types of automation cells safely using the correct procedure and making adjustments as necessary to ensure product meets customer specification.
- Set up and adjust various automation assembly machines, including pneumatics and robotic part movements.
- Set up, monitor and adjust visual inspection equipment on cells.
- Basic fault finding and problem solving of automation cells
- Basic tool maintenance including sharpening of punches and dies and replacing tool sections as required.
- Inspect and record first off parts as per quality plan and customer specifications, this will involve using various pieces of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and optical measuring equipment etc.
- Using our Stock control system to book material to cell and produce all relevant paperwork required to ensure full traceability.
- Maintaining a clean work area and adopting a 5S attitude
About the person:
- Good attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Positive attitude, good judgment and excellent time management skills
- The ability to communicate within a fast paced production environment to ensure any tooling issues can be dealt with in a timely manner.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability
- Must be physically capable of lifting heavy materials
- Ability to contribute as part of a team
- Surface grinding experience is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided.
Ideally the applicant will have an understanding of engineering principles and the ability to read engineering drawings.
