Benthic Consultant

Due to continued growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for someone who has a background in consultancy, surveying, or regulation. You will have a strong track record of working in the Benthic Environment. You may be looking to refocus your career or to take a ‘step up’ or are just looking to make a change to a company where your skills and knowledge will be able to flourish in a supportive and exciting environment across a range of marine projects and clients.

The number of years of experience is not the benchmark – it’s about you, your skills and relevant experience and where you want your career to go. Ideally, you will be available for hybrid working from one of our offices in either Liphook, Cardiff, or Dundee, but we also have options for flexible working – we won’t let location be a barrier.

Responsibilities

• Technical Analysis
• Data Research
• Bid / Report Writing
• Handling survey contractors and data input
• Client and Project Management
• Stakeholder engagement and liaison
• Supporting business development and attending industry-specific conferences and events

Required skills and experience:

• Degree/MSC/PhD in a relevant Marine Biology Subject
• Good knowledge and understanding of the UK’s marine subtidal and intertidal biodiversity and classification systems
• Good knowledge of UK and European nature conservation legislation
• Identification and characterisation of marine sensitive habitats and other conservation features
• Experience with the assessment of potential environmental effects in the marine benthic environment
• Awareness of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• Delivery of technical scientific writing.
