  • Cross-functional collaboration: work effectively with colleagues from other disciplines, including:
  • Design - to understand customer needs and create innovative solutions to address them
  • Engineering & QA - to build shared understanding, discuss technical concepts, and assess design trade-offs
  • Delivery - to develop and help coordinate credible plans
  • Service, Support & Change - to drive maintainability, supportability, and user adoption
  • Design thinking: facilitate ideation sessions, help develop prototypes, and incorporate customer feedback.
  • Stakeholder management: foster strong relationships with commercial stakeholders and help them see beyond the limitations of existing processes and systems.
  • User research: understand user behaviour, needs, and motivations through observation, analysis, and other feedback techniques.
  • Market intelligence: gather, analyse, and interpret data to understand trends, generate insights, and identify opportunities.
  • Product strategy: support the Head of Product to create a roadmap that delivers the commercial vision.
  • Product culture: be an active member of the product guild, help embed best practice, and coach more junior members of the team.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Significant experience of working in a product role as part of a cross-functional team, delivering digital products in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Significant experience of writing high-quality product requirements and creating supporting artefacts such as business process maps and data models.
  • Proven track record of building strong stakeholder relationships, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear manner and manage expectations.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

  • T-shaped orientation: articulate in the concepts, language, and approaches of product design, software engineering, quality assurance, service management, support, change management, and customer success.
  • Curiosity and problem-solving: passionate and motivated by gaining a deep understanding of complex, new domains and developing creative, pragmatic solutions to the challenges and opportunities they present.
  • Alignment approach: has good influencing and people skills, able to build support for new ideas.
  • Agile mindset: applies agile principles to deliver incrementally, with clarity and at pace.
  • Tenacity and resilience: able to navigate uncertain and tricky landscapes, overcome setbacks, and see tasks through to completion.
  • Domain: knowledge of the UK broadcast industry, video-on-demand, and video advertising.
  • Training: product owner/manager training or certificate is a plus.
