Position Overview & Specifications
An Assistant Accountant is required to work for an internationally listed Consumer business on a 15-month maternity cover contract, working remotely with team meetings in the London office once per month. You will have the opportunity to work for a globally recognised brand, which has expanded significantly having acquired a major brand in the market in 2020.
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, you will be working in a team of 7 and sitting amongst a wider finance team of 50 plus. You will have the opportunity to learn from Qualified Accountants and will take ownership for the accounting for the French and Italian entities and will also be involved with various project related work.
Responsibilities include:
- Taking ownership for the accounting for the French and Italian entities including handling the balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with profit and loss reporting
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly, quarterly & year-end reporting schedules and corporate templates
- Responsibility for month-end duties including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Managing intercompany transactions including dealing with multi-currency
- Business partnering with stakeholders in your region to support with finance queries
- Involvement in various finance projects including supporting with international expansion
- Liaising with auditors at year-end
The successful candidate will be an ACCA or CIMA studier (or Master’s equivalent) who is actively studying towards their qualification and who wants to progress in their career with a multinational business. You must have previous experience working for a business of £50 million turnover plus in a consumer/product based industry. You must be confident handling accruals, prepayments and journals at month-end. Knowledge of SAP is desirable as well as is knowledge of the French language or another European language. You must have excellent communication skills, be a team player and thrive in working in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
