Position Overview & Specifications
The Assistant Merchandiser reports to the Head of Merchanding, the role will have some degree of Merchandising responsibility and is the first step to becoming a Merchandiser. The aim is to maximise commercial opportunities through effective management of inventory driving demand and service through improved product availability and forecasting and reducing markdown to maximise profit.
The Assistant Merchandiser will start to get involved with the weekly merchandising &trading meetings where they will review the previous week's fashion sales, and the best and worst sellers for the merchandising department.
Role and responsibilities:
- Assist the Merchandiser in the coordination, planning and executing merchandising activities.
- Update reports on a weekly, monthly and ad hoc basis.
- Analyse day-to-day sales and stock levels.
- Use historical analysis to present conclusions and highlight risks and opportunities
- Challenge and escalate any dates that are or will be missed or will affect launch availability in line with the critical path.
- Identify PO’s and amendments to be raised.
- Actioning re-pricing and markdown changes.
- Assist in inventory, sales, margin and markdown analysis
- Resolve merchandising and production problems in a timely fashion.
- Manage product delivery trackers and respond to customer queries in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to resolve issues related to product information, pricing and shipping.
What we are looking for:
- 1-2 years of merchandising experience
- Graduates preferred
- High level of Excel skills
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- IT proficient
- Good attention to detail
- Eager to learn and willing to take on additional responsibilities
- Self-driven and organized in order to deliver results within deadlines
- Use own initiative to resolve issues that may arise.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £28,000.00 per year
