The Opportunity

As an Instrument Maintenance Technician, the main purpose of the role is to safely and efficiently complete preventative and corrective instrument maintenance and project activities as part of the site maintenance team; ensuring the health and safety of personnel, environment, and the integrity/reliability of the plant, equipment and systems are preserved, in accordance with Statutory Law and Compliance policy.

Key duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

> Visibly demonstrate Safety Leadership and support site leadership in delivering HSSE essentials

> Actively contribute to the site HSSE plan through engagement and completion of assurance activities

> Working in compliance with the Shell Work Instructions, Process Safety Fundamentals and Instrument specific procedures

> Responsible for maintaining personal competency including FLBM and CIP status

> Become a member of the Site Duty Team/ on call rota responding to emergency situations in accordance with the Site Emergency Procedures and out of hours front line maintenance requirements

> Hold strong communication and coordination with the Project Operations team to ensure safe handover and delivery of Instrument Maintenance tasks

> As a member of the Instrument Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities on a wide range of complex systems including Fire and Gas, ESD/EDP, Safeguarding Logic, Measurement, and Control Systems.

> Responsible for the safe execution of work including the use of ISSOW applications such as P- VISION, whilst adhering to site safety directives and maintenance procedures.

> Responsible for accurate and timely recording of technical histories within SAP on completion of work orders.

> Assist in reviewing and updating department procedures.

> Assist in pre-commissioning / commissioning of new plant and equipment.

> Deep understanding of maintenance processes ensuring PME and AMS processes are adhered to at all times.

The Person

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced instrument technician possessing an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum. Instrument Maintenance Technicians are key members of the wider maintenance team therefore the successful candidate should have the ability to effectively communicate and integrate with a high performing multi skilled team.

The applicant will have a deep understanding of the end-to-end PME process, effectively utilising the following applications: - Safe Systems of Work (P-Vision), SAP, FSR and information management systems including Share Point and MS Teams.

Project and Turnaround planning and execution experience would be an advantage, as would the ability to prepare and plan both PM and CM work orders in accordance with IAPS.

Essential:

> Experience and qualifications for this position would be a minimum of 5 years within the Petrochemical industry with a suitable technical qualification, HNC/D, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. As a quality assurance stakeholder, the applicant is expected to be highly respected and competent within the instrumentation community.

> Must be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, a high degree of self-reliance with appropriate technical skills, offering prompt solutions based on mature technical judgement. Flexibility to adapt to constant change is essential to enable the incumbent to work in a highly motivated and empowered environment.

> Continuous Improvement mind-set with a desire to continually improve processes resulting in heightened efficiency, as well as an ability to problem solve and progress ideas through to completion.

> Working hour flexibility is expected due to operational requirements especially during Turnarounds & Projects.

> Flexibility to adapt to change is essential to enable the incumbent to work in a highly motivated and empowered team environment.

> 100% FLBM competent, valid ASST and CIP authorisations.
