Position Overview & Specifications

Reports To: Team Leader

Grade/ Salary: £10.90 per hour

Location: Llandrindod Wells, Powys

Hours: 3 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Background and Service

Kaleidoscope is a pioneering substance misuse treatment provider, offering evidence based treatment and holistic support to individuals who access its services.

We are a forward looking organisation, passionate about developing services and listening to service users’ needs, which is at the heart of what we do. Our achievements include initiating the first needle syringe exchange, on site methadone dispensing and setting social enterprises. Kaleidoscope understands that, through listening to people, we will continue to be both an innovative service provider and one that campaigns for the interests of those seeking help.

The Powys substance misuse service provides psychosocial interventions for adult drug and alcohol users; and adult criminal justice interventions. These services are delivered alongside Medical and Prescribing services to ensure that the treatment of psychosocial needs occurs alongside the treatment of physical dependency to maximise recovery and outcomes for service users.

·Job Summary

  • Carry out all cleaning duties as directed by the Team Leader to the required Company standards.
  • Ensure that the cleaning schedule is adhered to.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
  • Ensure that all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition and report any defect to the Team Leader.
  • To be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the Service Users.
  • To comply with COSHH regulations.
  • To the correct use of PPE.
  • To ensure any necessary documentation is completed daily.
  • Ensuring all cleaning cupboards are left clean and tidy.
  • Individuals may also be responsible for keys and alarm codes where applicable.

Previous cleaning experience is desired, but not essential. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential to communicate with customers and managers and comply with Health & Safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and organise their own time.

The successful worker will play an important part in ensuring that they are delivering a high-quality standard of service to our clients.
