Job Title: Support Worker

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time

Location: Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, South of England

Job Summary: We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The Support Worker will provide assistance to individuals who require support due to physical or intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, or age-related conditions. The Support Worker will be responsible for promoting the independence and wellbeing of the people they support, by offering practical and emotional support, as well as advocating on their behalf when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assistance to individuals with daily living activities, such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, and transportation.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with the people you support, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Offer emotional support and actively listen to the concerns and needs of the individuals you support.
  • Encourage individuals to participate in activities and hobbies that promote their wellbeing and social inclusion.
  • Provide practical support and guidance to enable individuals to develop and maintain their independent living skills.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of support provided, including progress notes, incident reports, and medication administration records.
  • Actively promote and adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend regular training sessions and participate in team meetings and supervisions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A passion for helping and supporting vulnerable people.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and in challenging situations.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience in a similar support worker role is desirable but not essential.
  • A relevant qualification in social care, health care or related field is desirable but not essential.
