Position Overview & Specifications
Clinical duties include investigation and treatment of patients with oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital disease and allied disorders. Some general ophthalmology provisions and on call are required and the fellow will be on call for all urgent adnexal (oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital) cases.
Clinical duties for this post comprise the investigation and treatment of patients with oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital disease and allied disorders. Tenure of the post is initially for 12 months but may be renewable by mutual consent. The ideal candidate would be a CCT holder or equivalent who wishes to specialize in the surgical treatment of oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital diseases. The post is not a Deanery TSC, however, is recognised by the Royal College of Ophthalmologist.
Some general ophthalmology provisions and on call are required and the fellow will be on call for all urgent adnexal (oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital) cases. The post holder will gain surgical experience commensurate with their prior experience and ability.
The post will be predominantly or exclusively adnexal in nature but there may be occasions when the appointee has to cover more general clinical duties, which are based at King’s College Hospital and/or Queen Mary's Hospital. The following information in this paragraph relates only to these general duties, which are likely to include the management of out-patients and in-patients, including ward referrals.
