JOURNEYMAN TILE INSTALLER, APPRENTICE, & HELPER

We are looking for Journeymen Tile Setters.

This is right for you if you want to work full-time for a well-established flooring firm. We offer full time work, as well a medical, dental, and vision benefits.

We provide service to the entire Bay Area and the Valley.

Journeyman Tile Setter Qualifications:

• Has good physical stamina and ability to lift objects weighing 50 or more pounds.

• Knowledge of using power and hand tools to cut and shape tiles to ensure they fit around obstacles, in tight corners, and in odd areas.

• Knowledge of using screeds, brushes, and trowels or deck mud to make tile beds out of concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue, or mortar.

• Knowledge of using straightedges, levels, and squares to align and straighten tiles so that patterns are uniform and accurate.

• Able to cut, install, polish, and surface granite and marble with precision for long-term effects.

• Able to prepare various surfaces for tiling by using waterproofing material or lath, as well as thorough cleaning and the application of membrane, kerdi, or other brands.

• Able to install mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms, as well as in ordinary commercial units, lobbies, and common areas, to create decorative wall and floor designs.

• Able to carefully tap tiles into place with tools to ensure that they are well adhered to the base and that no tiles are broken or damaged.

• Able to follow plans precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to complete your layout adequately.

• Have reliable transportation and willing to travel throughout the Bay Area and the Valley for work. We do not provide company vehicles or carpooling.

*Those who want to be apprentices or helpers may apply, but you must have some prior costruction experience.

*Pay depends on experience, accuracy, quality, and speed.
