We are looking for Engineering Apprentices to join our Fabrication Department.

What will I do?

Initially you will be based at the TDR Training Centre in Long Benton where you will work to achieve your NVQ Level 2 in General Welding.

Once you have completed your initial training, you will spend the remainder of the four year apprenticeship working at Komatsu UK in the Fabrication Department.

In conjunction with TDR you will work to achieve your NVQ Level 3 Plate Welder and Advanced Apprenticeship.

What you will learn

  • How to work safely;
  • How to weld large steel components to a high quality standard;
  • How to operate machinery such as overhead cranes, air tools and manipulators;
  • How to follow work procedures/drawings;
  • Team work and continuous improvement.

Future Prospects

There will be the opportunity to secure permanent employment on successful completion of the Apprenticeship.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals with a keen interest in welding, who are enthusiastic, reliable and have the willingness to work hard within an engineering environment.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of, or expect to attain, 4 GCSE’s grade 4-9, to include Maths and English, or equivalent.
