Position Overview & Specifications

Here at Kubix, our web projects are fast-paced, creative and designed with the end user in mind. We build websites that sell; websites that wow our clients and delight the customers that they market to. Because of this, a rare opportunity has opened up for a budding developer to join our growing agency. This person will spend their days taking exciting and user-friendly web pages and then bringing them to life with flawless lines of code.

The Role

So what makes a great Front-End Developer? Imagination, attention to detail and a savvy knowledge of Shopify is a great place to start. We’re on the hunt for the ultimate multi-tasker - a talented individual who loves seeing their visions come to life and who isn’t afraid to throw their creative ideas onto the table. Someone who can assist both the development teams to create website designs that are user-friendly, effective and appealing. Someone who knows e-commerce, is adaptable and gets excited by a wide range of industries and projects.

You’ll spend your days supporting the design, development and management teams, developing skills and expertise in appropriate software / programming languages such as HTML and CSS. You will know our project lifecycle/processes inside out, and won’t hesitate in making recommendations on how we can be more efficient, quickly identifying blockers, risks and opportunities.

About You

  • You’ll have a tenacious ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to think of creative ‘out of the box’ solutions to (usually unforeseen) problems, quickly.
  • Someone who is keen to work in a fast-paced environment, and who can keep up with lots of deadlines and moving parts.
  • A personable, friendly communicator who is comfortable working to a client's brief.
  • Above all, you’ll have a willingness to learn and adapt. We’re a fast-growing company and don’t stand still.

Skills / Qualities

  • A passion for digital technology, particularly eCommerce.
  • General awareness of industry best practises for web development.
  • Experience working in an agency environment.
  • At least 2 year's experience with theme development.
  • Fluency in JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Excellent knowledge of responsive web development.
  • Great written / verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to keep track of the latest developments and best practices.

Nice To Have

  • Shopify Web Development.
  • NodeJS, Git, design software experience.
  • Knowledge of design / UX best practice.

What To Expect

Agency life has been a little different over the past year, but lockdown certainly hasn’t dampened our spirits. From socials (Friday drinks, anyone?), to quizzes, mindfulness sessions and team lunches - there won’t be a day that goes by without you connecting with the team and getting to know us.

We understand that your working environment is so much more than logging onto your computer from 9-5. Because of this, we also have an award-winning Employee Assistance Programme - unlimited access to support, available 24/7 for you and your household.

And when you first step into the Kubix HQ? Hold onto your creative hats, because we’ve got perks galore. From monthly socials to birthday celebrations, fancy coffees and cakes, you’ll soon walk into the office on a Monday morning with a spring in your step.
