Library and Student Services are recruiting a Specialist Mentor (Mental Health) who will be responsible for ensuring that students with moderate to severe mental health problems are provided with adaptive and outcome-focused mentoring support, underpinned by principles of autonomy and self-efficacy.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with others to identify needs and develop strategies which facilitate independent learning and successful participation in education. Candidates should also have experience in a Higher Education setting. You will also have an excellent working knowledge of the Disabled Students’ Allowance, have strong organisational abilities, excellent time management and record keeping skills.
We are a supportive team and value professional collaboration to ensure a consistent level of service for our students. We are therefore, looking for someone who can work flexibly and build positive and collaborative relationships with colleagues in our wider service and across the University.
The role will be based across our City Centre and Headingley campuses.
