Casual Academy Kit & Laundry Assistant

SUMMARY OF ROLE:
We currently have an opportunity for a Casual Kit & Laundry Assistant at our fantastic Academy based at our training grounds in Wetherby. This is a great opportunity for driven individuals who relish a challenge and are driven to succeed in a fast and innovative environment.

The Kit & Laundry Assistant are based at the Club’s Training Ground in Wetherby. The Kit & Laundry

Assistant will work alongside the current Kit & Laundry Team, helping action all kit and equipment needs for the Club’s Academy.

In liaison with the Academy coaches, the Kit & Laundry Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that the coaches have all the required resources for days/evening training sessions as well as ensuring all Academy teams have sufficient kit on matchdays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaise with the Academy coaches on all matters concerning kit and equipment requirements
  • Assist the Kit Team to ensure all the requirements for players and coaches are met, including printing where required
  • Prepare and pack all age group schoolboy match kit requirements and liaise with the

Academy Administrator to establish playing colours for each game

  • Check all the kit back in after usage and liaise with Laundry staff to ensure kit is promptly cleaned and packed away safely and securely.
  • Ordering, storing and distributing kit and equipment as directed
  • Contribute to maintenance of the inventory of all kit and equipment
  • Assist with the planning, implementation and monitoring of financial budgets for kit and equipment
  • Help the team with the cleaning and maintaining of staff and senior players’ boots
  • Where required, support the wider Kit Team in meeting requests from coaches for training sessions
  • To assist the Academy Kit Manager with the daily preparation of U18 & U23 training kits.
  • To print Academy training & match kits as required.
  • To help oversee the match kit protocol for U8 – U16 age groups; to prepare the kit allocation and check before and after fixtures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all kit logs and report discrepancies to the Academy Kit

Manager.

  • To prepare training equipment for U18 & U23 sessions.
  • To assist with the management of all kit and equipment storage spaces at Academy venues, ensuring that they are organised to a professional standard.
  • To assist with matchday operations at Academy venues as directed by the Academy Kit

Manager.

  • To undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.
  • Comply with all company policies/procedures. Adhere to all company regulations regarding policies, procedures, health, safety and security.
  • To develop a sound working knowledge of safeguarding children regulations, including legislation & governing body rules.
  • Travel required for match days; this requirement means the role consists of working unsociable hours including evenings and most weekends.

ESSENTIAL AND DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience of coaching in an Academy
  • Experience of working with Youth Development Phase players
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team to support player development
  • Experience of using a heat press machine
  • Experience of working in a similar position within sports
