You’ll be supplied with a uniform to wear. As you’ll work across the city in all weathers, you’ll have access to vehicles and electric bikes.

This is full-time, permanent post working 37 hours per week including some evenings and weekends.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll improve the quality of the local environment by being a visible and approachable ‘on the street’ presence and a point of contact for the public. You’ll take enforcement action when necessary, including issuing face to face fines and legal notices. Engaging with the local communities, businesses, and the public you’ll promote the local environment and provide information about enforcement and associated matters.

What you'll need

Working on your own initiative as well as part of a team, you’ll be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. With tact and diplomacy, you’ll be able to deal with irate or distressed customers whilst maintaining good customer care standards. With good attention to detail and literacy skills you’ll be able to make accurate recordings of events, observations, and conversations.

You’ll have a full driving licence and be required to complete a security check as you will also be working at Mansfield House Police Station.

What we can offer you

As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You’ll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working. We’ll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities.
