Production Roaster

We are on the search for a super enthusiastic production roaster to join our small but growing team. Previous experience in coffee roasting is preferable, but not essential. What we’re really looking for is a keen eye for detail, a good attitude, and an interest in speciality coffee as this role is a great springboard for anyone looking to explore a career in the industry.

As a key member of a small, passionate, and knowledgeable production team, you will be getting involved in almost all aspects of the roastery operations from roasting and production, to picking and packing, to warehouse duties and even QC and cupping.

This role can be hard work at times but is rewarded by a casual and aspirational working environment. You’ll get to work with some of the best coffees in the world, not to mention enviable vintage roasting machines and state of the art brewing equipment.

Roastworks is one of the UK’s leading independent speciality coffee roasters with a strong foothold in the retail sector, as well as wholesale and D2C channels. Our aim is to make speciality coffee more accessible, and we are entering an exciting new leg in our journey with further listings in some of the UK’s largest retailers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Production roasting
• Sample roasting
• Setting packing equipment up for production
• Packing coffee into bags
• Grinding coffee
• Picking and packing orders (wholesale, retail and D2C)
• Cleaning production areas and equipment
• Routine maintenance
• Setting up coffee cuppings and actively participating in cupping sessions.
• Record keeping
• General warehouse duties
• Actively contributing to a positive team atmosphere

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £22,000.00-£26,000.00 per year

• Monday to Friday

• Cullompton, EX15 2FS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
