Position Overview & Specifications

To support the Therapy department in the day to day operation of the Satellite equipment store and the coordination of the LUFT Equipment service.

To support the Therapy department in ensuring the appropriate adaptive equipment is available, clean and fit for issue when required by clinical staff across the service.

To assist in the development and maintenance of electronic and manual systems for recording information and data regarding equipment provision and storage in line with Trust and local authority requirements.

To participate in projects and initiatives with Therapy Lead related to the development of equipment provision and the Satellite equipment store.

To coordinate referrals received from LUFT inpatient therapy teams to the LUFT equipment support service.

To support the LUFT equipment support service visits in the community as a second member of staff if service needs require.

To comply with the Satellite Stores Standard Operating Procedure and liaise with Therapy Lead, Therapy Managers and CBM as required.

To be in charge of the day-to-day operation of the satellite equipment store in line with departmental requirements and in liaison with the Lead Therapist.

To process referrals and requests for equipment from the therapy teams and ensure the referral system to Sefton, Liverpool and Knowsley equipment stores is sound and efficient.

To complete all necessary paperwork and collect all necessary data in line with reporting requirements.

To ensure the effective management and availability of equipment stock levels is maintained through the effective use of electronic and manual recording systems and that robust arrangements are in place for the cleaning and collection of loan equipment.

To develop and maintain effective working relationships with partners/colleagues in neighbouring Community Equipment stores.

To liaise with patients, carers and/or relatives in arranging for the collection of equipment to take place and ensure that all equipment that is collected is cleaned and put back into stock in line with Infection Control and the Satellite Stores standard operating procedure.

To report hazards, faults, accidents and near misses in relation to equipment and within the work environment in line with Trust policy and procedure.
