Job Description Summary
The Core Data Centre team’s prime responsibility is to protect and maintain service for our customers.
This position is site based and within the Data Centre Operations South Team covering Peterborough and Corby Data Centres. This right person will become part of the team delivering all aspects of Data Centre Management across the two campuses. This would involve working as part of a shift team covering 12-hour shifts on days and nights, 24 x 7, 365 days a year.

The day in the life of a data centre shift operator could be, but is not limited to;
  • Site Management and access control
  • Incident, Problem & Change Management
  • Hardware support
  • Vendor Relationship Management
  • Structured Cabling
  • Inventory / Asset Management
  • IT Equipment & Tape / Disk disposal
  • Media Management
Crucially, you’re a team player. You’ll need to be able to put yourself in the customer’s shoes and work together with your colleagues to deliver for them – and you’ll do everything you can to go above and beyond.
The candidate must be IT literate and able to utilise a range of applications including Microsoft Office 365. The ability to provide excellent Customer Service, focused on both written and verbal communication is essential. The candidate will need to be analytical and practical.
The candidate must possess a UK Driving License and have access to a vehicle.
An IT, Data Centre or Service Delivery background would be advantageous.
In return for your commitment, you’ll of course receive your salary and in addition, a shift, allowance of £12,000 p.a. As well as the salary and shift allowance you will enjoy the advantages of a reward package that offers flexibility and choice. Highlights include:
