About Us:

Help us repair and maintain high-quality and carbon-neutral homes

The Grenfell Tower tragedy resulted in the loss of 72 lives and caused significant trauma for the survivors and bereaved. The Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team was created to work in partnership with the local community, and aims to deliver a 21st century model estate that is carbon-neutral by 2030.

We’re building a team of innovative repairs professional who understand the importance of technical excellence, alongside delivering and effortless customer experience for residents who live in the homes we manage.

When it comes to offering a high-quality repairs service, we’re already doing well. With your help, we can do even better.

The Role:

The role provides an opportunity to set a new standard for high quality social housing, responsiveness, and resident focus.

You’ll ensure exceptional customer service from initial reporting of a repair through to completion. Your central task will be to meet performance targets by allocating and planning work for our team of operatives.

This will include scheduling tasks, liaising with contractors, ordering materials, reporting on repairs and major works, and resolving issues and complaints.

However, this is also a people-focused role: you’ll be the main point of contact for residents, keeping them updated and informed about the progress of repairs. Effective questioning and listening skills are the key to success.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

Professional, courteous and highly organised, you’re likely to have experience in a call handling or frontline service environment.

We’ll expect you to be proactive, flexible and resourceful in your approach, and also able to negotiate effectively. Good IT knowledge is essential, including the use of spreadsheets and databases. Understanding of the construction industry would be helpful, but is not essential. Above all, you’ll bring a strong customer focus and a high degree of empathy, patience and understanding.

You will have experience of working with contractors to ensure works are completed to specification, in time, and on budget.

You will be passionate about making a positive impact in delivering secure, well-maintained homes, improving the health and quality of life for the residents we serve, and thermal performance of the buildings we manage.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.

Application process

Please do not upload any documents, including CVs/Covering Letters or supporting statements, as these documents will not be reviewed and could result in your application not being shortlisted.

You should describe how you meet the person specification requirements for the position you are applying for in Section G of the application form.
