Credit Control Manager
- producing accurate and timely management accounts, journal preparation, identifying and correcting mis posts, variance analysis and insightful commentary by identifying cost drivers and behaviours.
- direction setting, monitoring and reviewing the team (14 people) activity implementing ideas and processes to ensure high performance of the credit management function.
- building effective business relationships with internal and external customers to maximise cash collection whilst minimising risks.
- investigation and resolution of credit risks and problem accounts, reviewing and managing issues and significant transactions.
- ensuring that the company credit policy is adhered to including monitoring the application of appropriate credit limits and the risk profile of customers.
- preparing the annual budget and monthly/quarterly re-forecasts for credit management.
- developing and maintain the weekly credit control dashboard for commercial management.
- preparing monthly reports on aged debt, overdue debt, DSO, cash flow, credits processed and provision for losses.
- managing the credit control team (14 people), providing training, coaching and development.
- preparing ad hoc reporting in line with the needs of the business.
- Credit Management experience (at least 10 years) with a background ideally in wholesale business.
- have previous management experience within a credit control department and possess a working knowledge of credit control procedures.
- be an influential team player with the ability to build working relationships and communicate effectively across the business, including working closely with customer service and sales teams.
- have the ability to build successful relationships with external customers and resolve complex issues on a timely basis.
- be someone that positively embraces change and can demonstrate previous success in driving improvements to credit risk management and operating procedures.
- be proactive and reliable with a positive, flexible working attitude.
- have the ability to set tough but achievable targets for the team and monitor progress towards those targets.
- be highly skilled in prioritising tasks with the ability to perform to a high standard under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
- possess excellent analytical skills to identify key trends and risks and formulate appropriate solutions.
- have full working knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong excel skills and ideally experience with SAP.
- Be able to speak Italian, Dutch, French or a Scandinavian language is a plus
