Position Overview & Specifications

Who You'll Work With

You will be based in McKinsey’s London office, as a member of our growing community of risk and compliance colleagues, reporting to the Compliance Manager for Europe with guidance from firm risk.
McKinsey’s SHaPE practice provides management consulting services to governments, healthcare and social sector agencies at federal, state and local levels as well as development agencies, multilaterals, bilateral and nonprofit agencies. The practice has conducted more than 6000+ public and social sector client engagements in over 90 countries on all continents during the past 5 years. We have delivered significant impact and have an unrivaled knowledge base, supported by proprietary tools, assets and solutions, cutting-edge research and advanced analytics capabilities.
You will work closely with stakeholders in the firm’s risk, compliance, legal, communications and finance functions, and whose mission is to enable McKinsey’s client impact and innovation, while managing risks to the firm, our clients, and our people.
You will interact and work with client-serving partners and wider colleagues across the firm’s public, social and state-owned sector client work.

What You'll Do

You will support the practice's overall efforts in compliance through a combination of tracking, measuring and reporting activities, process management, and building awareness/serving as key point of contact on compliance issues.
You will collaborate with cross functional teams to proactively identify, pursue and implement continuous service improvements, leveraging both technology and process optimization strategies. You will play an important role in evolving and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Firm’s compliance processes in a globally consistent way. In maintaining an overview of compliance processes within the practice, your work will often involve the development and delivery of contextualized reports, presentations, and communications to practice and firm leadership, practice colleagues and firm functions.
Over time, you will inform decision making through an increasingly nuanced understanding of economic, geographic and political issues that impact on the practice’s engagements across Europe, and to serve as a valued source of advice on relevant approaches and levels of compliance for specific locations and clients.
All in all, you will be central to developing, evolving and implementing the firm’s approach to assurance and compliance.
