Pharmacy Dispenser

Stafford Health and Wellbeing Pharmacy, is an independent, community pharmacy, located inside a busy health-centre in Stafford. We have a high customer foot-fall and dispense a high volume of prescriptions monthly. We also deliver a wide variety of pharmacy services.

We are looking for an experienced dispensing technician or dispensing assistant who is dedicated, empathetic in nature, can work professionally and safely under pressure and can communicate effectively with a wide range of customers. We have an experienced and skilled team of staff including, pharmacists, dispensers, dispensing and retail assistants and pharmacy drivers, who you will work with and who will support you in your role also.

The responsibilities and duties of the role include;

• Prioritise tasks effectively with team and prioritise patient safety at all times
• Receiving, labelling, dispensing, filing and handing out prescriptions according to pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Ordering, managing and storing dispensary stock accurately according to SOPs and manage issues surrounding stock availability
• Preparing monitored dosage system blister packs
• Communicate and work effectively with other staff and liaise with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of patient care across different healthcare providers
• Answering calls and handling customer queries with care and empathy and providing advice to customers within competency (referring to more experienced/qualified staff when required)
• Delivering a variety of pharmacy services within competency
• Conducting basic retail operations and sales transactions.
• Experience using Proscript PMR system, NHS Spine and Pharmoutcomes
• Previous pharmacy experience (preferably 1+ year)

As part of the role, you will receive dispensing assistant training (if required) to enable you to work safely. You will also receive pharmacy specific training, to ensure you are working according to our standard operating procedures.

Salary: £9.50-£11.50 per hour
