Position Overview & Specifications
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The role of involves preparing customer orders for shipment. Picking and packing items as per the order delivery notes. It also includes responsibility for other warehouse duties, including loading and unloading shipments and deliveries, stock control and maintain a safe working environment.
AREAS RESPONSIBILITY
Safely picking items from shelves, preparing customer orders using both computer and printed documentation.
Recording manufacturer batch and serial numbers for each order.
Packaging completed orders in protective bubble wrap and cardboard boxes to protect them during shipment.
Using scanners, barcodes and serial numbers to locate the correct items for shipment and to ensure that inventory is managed accurately
Completing necessary invoicing or paperwork to allow efficient shipping and tracking of orders.
Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures.
Assisting with warehouse inventory controls.
Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Manager.
Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy.
Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods.
Treating merchandise with care and concern at all times
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Physical strength, fitness and dexterity, as the role requires constant lifting of a heavy packages.
Excellent team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other departments.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Computer literacy, including knowing how to use scanners and relevant software programs, such as warehouse management systems.
Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills to coordinate large volumes of goods.
Honesty and trustworthiness.
The ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of in-house databases and order tracking software
Interpersonal skills
Ability to work while standing for long hours.
Knowledge of warehouse health and safety policies and procedures
Attention to detail.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- At least 2 years of experience warehouse and/or picker packer duties.
- Some knowledge of computer-based inventory systems.
- Full UK driving license.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 10-20 per week
Salary: £10.42-£12.10 per hour
